They inhabit marshes, shallow waters, duckweed-covered ponds, swamps, and small lakes with floating vegetation of Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina. Rosy-billed pochards, also known as rosybills or rosybill pochards, are unmistakable diving ducks endemic to South America.
